Red Llama Partners with Medical Simulation International on Global Health Project. For the past few years, Red Llama has been privileged to work on a global health project with Minneapolis-based Medical Simulation International on a project to create a SimPraxis®-based Fistula Repair Trainer. Millions of women in the developing world suffer from obstetric fistula due to obstructed deliveries. Working with surgeons around the world, we are developing a Trainer to improve training of additional surgeons and to prolong their successful practice of fistula repair. In 2011 we traveled to Dakar Senegal to work with Dr. Serigne Maguey Gueye and capture video of his repair technique. In January 2013 to Ngaramtoni, Tanzania to capture video of Dr. Andrew Browning's work. Dr. Browning is the contributing author to Dr. Brian Hancock's Practical Obstetric Fistula Repair. Finally, in October 2013, we traveled to Addis Ababa to work again with Dr. Browning and Dr. Catherine Hamlin at the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital. This project is part of the International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology's (FIGO) work to improve fistula care.
